Another strike. Another disruption. Another round of angry emails from customers wondering why their orders are late.
If you run an online store in Canada, you already know:
Canada Post is no longer reliable.
And every time this happens, it hurts.
Not just your shipping — your reputation, your return rate, your revenue.
You don’t control the strikes. But you can control what happens next.
Because right now, the fastest-growing Shopify stores in Canada aren’t relying on hope or apologies.
They’re using Purolator’s dynamic shipping integration, built directly into Shopify, delivering real-time rates at checkout — without the guesswork, without the breakdowns, and without the risk.
Let’s walk through exactly how to do it.
And if you don’t want to waste another hour in your Shopify settings?
We’ll do it for you. Fast.

No fluff. No theory. Just exactly what you need — and what not to do.
Go to your Shopify Admin →
Settings → Shipping & Delivery
Under your Shipping Profile, select the zone you want to offer Purolator for (e.g. Canada).
➡ Click Manage Rates
➡ Scroll to Carrier and App Rates
➡ Select “Use carrier-calculated rates”
➡ Choose Purolator
If you have negotiated rates or want to add a handling fee, you can configure those here.
Watch this step in action (1:01)
This is where most store owners hit a wall.
You follow all the steps, go to checkout… and no rates show up.
You assume Purolator is broken. Or that Shopify is buggy. Or that you’ve done something wrong.
You haven’t.
The problem is invisible.
And it lives in Step 3 and Step 4.
Purolator’s system won’t return any shipping rates for products under 0.035 lbs.
That’s the technical minimum. Anything less? The carrier ignores it.
Do this now:
This is non-negotiable. You can’t skip this step and expect rates to work.
Another silent killer: no phone number on your Shopify location.
Purolator requires it. If it's missing, shipping rates silently fail.
Here’s how to fix it:
Add a product with weight to your cart.
Proceed to checkout.
You’ll now see Purolator's live, real-time rates, pulled directly from their system — calculated based on product weight, location, and service availability.
Here’s what we’ve fixed for clients 100+ times:
You don’t need to debug this yourself.
You’re not “setting up Purolator.”
You’re eliminating risk.
Every time Canada Post fails, you lose money — and trust.
Your customer doesn’t care why their package is late. They only care that it’s late. And in a market full of competitors, you may not get a second chance.
That’s why smart brands are switching to dynamic, flexible shipping setups that can adapt — instantly — when one carrier drops the ball.
This isn’t just a feature.
This is business continuity.
We’re not an agency. We’re the partner you call when it’s time to move fast.
No vague timelines. No padded hours. No BS.
When you hire FireNet, you get:
If your Shopify store is mission-critical, you don’t have time to "figure it out later."
You want this done once, right, and now.
We’ve set up this exact system for hundreds of Canadian store owners.
We can do yours in a fraction of the time — without the stress.
Don’t wait for the next delay. Or the next customer complaint. Or the next refund request.
Let’s solve the problem — permanently.
